Chinese female historians topic of lecture by visiting scholar
The contributions of Chinese women writers in China’s historiography will be outlined in a talk by a visiting Chinese scholar at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in Room 2028 of Brown Hall on Western Michigan University's main campus.
Dr. Clara Wing-chung Ho, a professor of history at Hong Kong Baptist University, will present the talk. Titled “Were Chinese Women Interested in History? Evidences from their Works in the Ming-Qing Period,” it is free and open to the public.

Happy Chinese New Year 2013!!!
A campus celebration of Chinese New Year 2013 will be hosted by the Confucius Institute at Western Michigan University from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Wesley Foundation. Activities include learning Chinese card games and a video will be shown about customs and traditions related to the holiday. Honoring Chinese customs, dumplings and beverages will be served. We look forward to seeing you at our celebration.
