U.S. strategies in East Asia topic of Jan. 31 talk

The potential impact of United States' strategies in East Asia will be outlined in a talk by Dr. Ling Wei, professor of international studies and director of the East Asian Studies Center at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing, China.
Wei's presentation, "Rebalancing or Debalancing: The U.S. Strategies and New Asian Order," is planned for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Brown Hall Room 2028. The talk is open to the public free of charge.

7th Global Confucius Institute Conference
The 7th Global Confucius Institute Conference was held in Beijing, China from December 16-18, 2012. Dr. Donald McCloud, director of the Confucius Institute at WMU, and Dr. Bassam Harik, associate provost of the Haenicke Institute for Global Education, attended the conference along with Confucius Institute representatives from around the world.
International Education Week 2012
The Confucius Institute welcomes the community to participate in two cultural activities it is hosting as part of WMU's celebration of International Education Week 2012.
1. China Quiz Bowl—6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in Room 157 of the Bernhard Center.
2. Window to China—2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 in Room 210 of the Bernhard Center.
